National Families Week 15th – 21st May

Importance of Community within our families

The week will highlight the importance of all caregivers in families, be it parents, grandparents or siblings and the importance of parental education for the welfare of children. It will focus on good practices for work-family balance to assist parents in their educational and care giving roles. National Families Week has developed 10 top tips to incorporate a healthy and happy lifestyle for families and our communities.

  1. Join a local community group
  2. Encourage each other and offer support
  3. Value everyone contribution to family life
  4. Do something with your family to help others
  5. Take time to talk and listen to others
  6. Respect the differences within your family
  7. Ask for help when you need it
  8. Celebrate your families achievements
  9. Build relationships with older relatives
